A local fashion brand from Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Jaleela, is increasingly popular and confident in presenting their works to the public. Most recently, Jaleela will appear at Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2023.
IFW itself is the biggest fashion event in Indonesia which is held to develop all the potential of the Indonesian fashion world.
IFW 2023 will be held from 22 February to 26 February at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta. Carrying the theme ‘Segara dari Timur’ or The Miracle of Wallacea”, IFW 2023 wants to return to presenting a new wave of creativity in the fashion world by highlighting the beauty and everyday life of Indonesia in the Wallacea Zone.
This theme was carried out because Indonesia is very rich in biota, abiota, and culture. So that IFW 2023 wants to highlight the beauty of maritime tourism owned by Eastern Indonesia through this theme. Meanwhile, Jaleela, as one of NTB’s well-known fashion brands, will also appear to enliven the biggest fashion show event in Indonesia.
Jaleela will be one of the 400 fashion brand participants and 200 designers who will appear at IFW 2023. Jaleela’s founder, Asbety Sasaki Puteri, admitted that she was happy that her fashion brand could take part in this prestigious event. Moreover, this is the first time Jaleela has appeared at a fashion show. “We are very happy that this time we can finally participate with great Indonesian designers to introduce our designs,” said Putri.
He also said that at the IFW 2023 event, Jaleela tried to present the best design to introduce the underwater beauty of the Tiga Gili islands (Gili Trawangan, Air, and Meno). “Jaleela carries the theme Berama in her design this time which means beauty. Jaleela wants to convey a message to protect our beautiful underwater world so that it remains sustainable,” he stressed. “Hopefully the work we present can be well appreciated, and later Jaleela will be better known in the national and international arena,” said the woman who graduated as an architect from Brawijaya University. Jaleela Products Are Interested in the World Currently, Jaleela has 23 product designs divided into 4 categories.
Starting from tops or top wear or kebaya which consists of Runa Top, Sierra Top, Shea Top, Kalina Top, Kamala Top, Malea, Mallory. This top wear is said by Putri to be a best seller since last year. Then, Jaleela’s daily wear consists of inner (inner), and skirt products (skirts) consisting of farah skirts with ethnic cotton motifs, rumi skirts and kiara made of satin, as well as selena skirts, Jemma skirts and Tutu skirts made of a blend of cotton and satin. “Since a year ago, skirts made of satin have become best sellers because of the wide variety of colors, there are neutral colors, such as Milo, Cocoa, romantic, such as Lilac, Dusty peach, and monochrome, such as Pigeon and Black,” said Putri.
Meanwhile, bag and shoe products added to Jaleela’s product category, namely accessories consisting of loui shoes, jane shoes, emma bags and kim bags. The floral and ethnic motifs presented by Jaleela products are intended to make and introduce Lombok and Indonesia. “That then becomes the attraction for buyers not only from Indonesia but also Southeast Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, China and Taiwan, even the European market,” said Putri.
